Little Crackers is the working title of a television show, directed by Caroline Quentin which will be shown at Christmas on SKY1.
Last Wednesday and Thursday Bwark Productions Ltd, after several preliminary visits, worked in and around the church hall, first preparing and then filming scenes for the show.
The scenes were set in a church hall at Christmas 1968.
There were lots of decorations and a large tree inside and the snow arrived outside at just the right time! A great deal of work went into one day’s filming. We will get photographs of the filming but these cannot be released until after the show has been broadcast. They left us the Christmas tree so, if it lasts, we will use it at St Margaret’s at Christmas 2012.
Harvest Thanksgiving. We will also be collecting for the Crisis Appeal.
Please do come along and celebrate Eucharist with us and help collect for this vital service. Sunday 30th completes our year of fundraising for Crisis.
You can find out more about Crisis by clicking here.
A date for your diary: AFTERNOON TEA on Saturday 29 September, 2.00 to 4.30pm here at St Margaret’s.
Please come along, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and cake and catch up with friends.
Any money raised will be for the Crisis Appeal.
Open Garden this year is on the 7th July. All proceeds will be donated to The Children’s Society.
This is a great event for Cuttings, Advice and meeting like-minded people!
The date the Olympic torch will be carried through Redbridge and the names of those who will carry it have been announced.
Twenty-six lucky people will bear the flame through the borough on July 22, with the procession starting at the Redbridge Cycle Centre in Hainault at 7.19am.
The route will take the torch along Forest Road before sailing across Fairlop Lake on a boat.
From there crowds in Barkingside will be able to watch as it is carried down Cranbrook Road, across Gants Hill and then past the mansion in Valentines Park. It will then proceed through Ilford past the Town Hall before leaving the borough for Barking.
What a success the Mayfayre was today; great weather, excellent turnout and lots of fun!
Our Mayfayre Procession was led through the local community by the Morris Dancers (thanks to other road users giving us free access). We returned to St Margaret’s for the crowning of the May Queen (more photos to follow):
and for the Maypole Dance performed by the children of Christchurch School and Ilford Girl Guides:
Even one of our resident Cantors thoroughly enjoyed himself:
